Protect your cells by using MyCanister
We provide MyCanister (canister for cell culture dishes) to overseas customers.
We hereby
introduce how this product is useful for preventing contamination and reducing the risks of contamination.
MyCanister is intended to be used for protecting cultured cells from the risks of contamination and cross-contamination during cell culture in an incubator or transportation. This product allows reserchers not to worry about the risks of contamination.
Keep the inside clean, transport your cells safely by using MyCanister!
The features of MyCanister are…
- MyCanister’s lid is transparent. Reserchers can check the cultured cells without taking out the cell culture dishes and flasks.
- High-performance filters are on the both sides of the lid. The filters keep the inside of MyCanister clean.
- MyCanister can be stacked. Stacking MyCanister, reseachers can effectively use the space of an incubator.
- Easy to replace the filter. Easy to handle thanks to its light weight.
- Putting labels on the side of the lid, researchers can easily identify their cells.
Features of the high-performance filter
MyCanister can maintain clean environment inside because the high-perfomance filter has good moisture permeability. Since the size of pores on the filter is less than 4μm, spores and bacteria cannot go in.

FAQ
How often is the filter replaced?
We do not determine the specific replacement period. However, we just recommend replacing the filter and autocraving the base plate and the lid (filter is unautocravable) after finishng cell culture (or when another cell is cultured.).
Is MyCanister resistant to Ethanol?
Yes, both the base plate and the lid are resistant to Ethanol, but do not spray Ethanol to the filter.
Can cell culture dishes be firmly placed in the MyCanister?
No. However, there is a sticky mat on the base plate. It prevnets the cell culture dishes from moving around or turning upside-down in the MyCanister.
What kinds of materials is the filtrer made from?
The filter is made from Tybek® 1073B(Dupont, medical grade) and has high protective performance because microorganisms including bacteria cannot penetrate the filter. Tybek® 1073B is used for medical devices packaging, CPC gown and so on that need to be sterilized.
Can the lid be locked?
No. A prototype of MyCanister had a lock system, but locking operation can give a physical impact to MyCanistrer and there is a chance to give cell culture dishes an impact. Since many resaearchers think the impact is not good for their cells, we decide to remove the lock system.
Is MyCanter autocravable?
Yes, MyCanister is autocravable. According to an autcrave test in the manufacturer, it can be autocraved up to 8 times. Please note the following things when autocraving MyCanister.
・Remove all filters from the lid. (The filter is unautocravable. Please purchase replacement filter, if necessary.)
・Autocrave condition: 121C, 20 minutes, fix MyCanister vertically or horizontally during autocrave.
