Product introduction: CryoHandy
As research target to industrialize regenerative medicine has been expanding, strict quality management has been required for those biomaterials like cells. Because we have not deeply paid attention, in particular, to the quality control methods of frozen sample transportation, we have not discussed the proper transportation methods and vessels that keep safety and product quality, either.
In most situation, Styrofoam boxes filled with dry ice ir liquid nitrogen are used for short distant transportation when frozen samples are shipped , but they are not optimal methods because they are not safe for both transporters and samples, and further, it cannot sustain samples quality during transportation.
To address these issues, we developed CryoHandy portable dry shipper.
As this product utilize unique vacuum heat insulation technology developed by Taiyo Nippon Sanso, it can keep ultra-low temperature inside for up to 4 hours despite its compact design.
This product contributes to short-distance transportation keeping low temperature for necessary period of time.

Besides, this product can be used more easily than conventional dry shippers.
As for conventional dry shippers, it takes several hours or even overnight to get it filled and soaked with LN2.
However, it takes just 30 minutes for CryoHandy to finish these operations.

Since this product is compact and has low volume it cannot keep the inside at ultra-low temperature for long time like conventional dry shippers, but it can keep the inside at -150C or lower for up to 4 hours.
It is suitable for short-distance transportation such as between nearby facilities or between rooms in the same facility, because 4 hours is completely enough for short-distance frozen samples transportation.
The absorbent in CryoHandy can retain LN2 securely, there is no risks of injuries and lack of oxygen.
CryoHandy can maintain the inside tat certain conditions, while environments inside Styrofoam boxes could vary because of its volume, insulation level (thickness of the walls), LN2 volume filled in the boxes and so on…
It means that using CryoHandy can easily standardize transportation methods.
We also developed CryoHandy Wide that is a little lager than CryoHandy to meet customers’ requests saying that they want to transport more samples or monitor the inside temperature during transportation.
CryoHandy Wide is larger than CryoHandy, but its usage is as easy as CryoHandy (filling time: 30 minutes and temperature holding time: up to 4 hours)
Specified temperature loggers can be mounted on CryoHandy Wide to monitor the temperature inside the vessel during transportation. Also, CryoHandy Wide is suitable for transportation for various and bigger samples, for example, freeze boxes (5×5) or 25 mL cell freezing bags.
