Cellmenity, Serum-free cryopreservation media


Cellmenity is a cryopreservation solution that features performance that rivals that of cryopreservation solution with serum, even thought it is serum-free. Users can use this solution with confidence, knowing that there are no such risks as “impact from unknown constituents” or “inter-lot variances”, which exist with products that contain serum.

  • Serum-free product
    The solution is a serum-free cryopreservation solution.
  • High survival rate
    Cell protecting actions of the same degree as products that contain serum are featured, with incorporation of high cell survival rate protecting agent. The product achieves high survival rate following freezing and thawing for this reason.
  • Preservation of samples over longer periods possible in deep freezers
    Samples can be frozen and preserved over longer periods in deep freezers (-80°C) and no programmable freezers are necessary.
  • No inter-lot variances
    There are no inter-lot variances, since the product is serum-free and there are “no risks associated with unknown constituents of biological origin or infectious agents impacting cells”.
  • Storage with liquid nitrogen is also possible
    After samples are frozen at -80°C, they can also be preserved with liquid nitrogen.
  • Storage method
    This product can be stored stably at 2 to 10°C. The effective period is 2 years from manufacture (the expiry date is clearly marked on each product).
  • Examples of cells used
    There are a large number of preservation examples with a variety of cell strains, including P3U1 (mouse myeloma cell line), KATO III (human gastric carcinoma epithelial cell line), Daudi (human B cell strain), K562 (human leukemia cell line), PC12 (rat derived adrenal pheochromocytoma), OKT4 (mouse hybridoma), mouse embryonic stem cells and the like.
